Lindsay Lohan arrested
SANTA MONICA -- Actress Lindsay Lohan, who recently spent more
than a month in treatment for alcoholism, was arrested on suspicion of drunken
driving in Santa Monica early Tuesday morning.
The 21-year-old actress, who is already facing a drunken driving charge in
Beverly Hills, was pulled over on Main Street near the Santa Monica Police
Department and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, as
well as driving on a suspended license, according to Sgt. Robert Hernandez.
Lohan agreed to wear a alcohol-detecting anklet upon her release from the
Promises treatment center in Malibu, but it was unclear if that played a role in
the traffic stop.
She was being held in the Santa Monica jail shortly before sunrise in lieu of
$25,000 bail, police said.
Two other people in the vehicle were released, Hernandez said. He did not say
who they were.
Lohan's recent stint at Promises was her second round of treatment in less than
a year. In January, she checked into the Wonderland Center in Laurel Canyon
after supposedly passing out in a hotel hallway after party thrown for the
Golden Globe Awards.
